I love love love these little twist top boxes. You can start with a circular piece of paper for a glue-free box, like the one Victoria's Secret had. The downside is that even a modest size box requires a very large piece of paper.
This glue-together box can be cut from a letter size or A4 piece of paper. Much better for those of us who like to use a cutting machine.
How to make a twist top snowflake box
Download and cut out box pieces.
Pre-crease all folds.
Coil box into a tube and glue at the side.
Close box: collapse top sections, pushing each to the side and working around the box to interlock snowflake arms.
Turn box over and glue the hexagonal base to the bottom flaps.

You always save me. I was just thinking about making this similar box using the pop up ball base and here it is again your free pdf file. Thank you!
It is so beautiful!
You consistently amaze me. Love this box...

This is great. I love snowflakes. I do pysanka and one year for Easter I made this type of box to give the eggs in.
In "The Book of Boxes" by Kunio Ekiguchi this is called a chrysanthemum box.
Thank you so much for this Freebie. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in Creative Busy Hands Cricut Freebies Search List, under the Box, Purses, etc. post on Feb. 17, 2010. Thanks again.
You are so amazing... I can't even express my love for this box.
You're blog is like nothing Iv'e ever seen, and if theres a papercrafter who hasn't seen your site, they are MOST DEFFINITLEY missing out.
Keep it up!

Just another reason to LOVE your blog!
Obviously, I spend WAY too much time on the computer. :)

That is so pretty! It's a shame we're just past Christmas (although we did have hail last night) but maybe next year.
I definitly spend too much time on the computer. Especialy since I have to go to school in eight minutes....
bye, and thank you!
I have a stupid question as I am a relative newbie to the cutting machines. Can I cut any of these files with my Cricut, I have SCAL. Thanks
Sonya, not a stupid question at all. You need Inkscape (which is a free program). Open the PDF version, then save it as an SVG. Open the SVG in SCAL.
Email me directly, I have an SVG version of this box. (No score lines--you'll have to look at the picture and add them).

Thank you for this lovely tutorial! I just made a "prototype" just to see how it would work and it was so easy and wonderful! I appreciate the things you do for us people who are not nearly as talented!
Merci pour ces superbes pas à pas
J'ai mis le lien sur mon blog de travail de scrap.. pour que les françaises puisent venir vous rendre visite et reconnaitre votre talent.
Ok pour le copyrigth
Thank you! Can't wait to try this creative box!
